In our St. Joseph Life Lab,

We are inspired by the belief that nature is a gift from our loving Creator.
Just as we care for one another, we also care for the plants, animals,
land and insects that share this beautiful world.

The Salesian Life Lab program is a hands-on learning elective for grades TK through 5th grade.

  • We begin in October and hold classes twice a month through the school year.

  • The curriculum touches on different areas of natural science such as basic botany, soil science, wildlife, and conservation while providing the students with time in the garden to practice and observe the concepts that they are being taught.

  • They also learn to start contemplating like scientists by observation, collecting information, and critical thinking which supports their age-appropriate current science curriculum and the STEM programs in 6th, 7th, and 8th grades.

As a volunteer run elective Program at Salesian Elementary & Junior High School, ours cultivate the fundamental connection between the child and his/her world.

Through immersive learning experience, students observe and nurture their surroundings. To pass on this sacred knowledge, we need learning and observations tools, basic gardening and irrigation equipments, healthy amount of supply of soil and seeds, and a safe environment to do it all.
