Weekly Update 10/21/2019

Hello parents!

We have quite a few things coming up this week:

  • Rosary Night- tomorrow night, Tuesday October 22nd at 7:00 pm we will be having our Rosary Night for the TK-4th grades. If you are available, we would love for you to join us in the special opportunity to pray the Rosary together. We ask that students come in their Sunday best and arrive at 6:45-6:50 to get seated. While this is not a mandatory night, the students have been practicing in leading the prayers in preparation.

  • Fundraisers- We have two great fundraisers happening this week. This Wednesday, October 23rd from 5-10 pm, we have a dine for dollars night at Straw Hat Pizza in Watsonville. Straw Hat will be donating a portion of the proceeds to Salesian. We also have our annual Box of Joy fundraiser beginning this week. This fundraiser provides less-fortunate children with Christmas presents. We are asking that students find one small toy to bring in to contribute to the boxes, as well as a $2 donation to cover the shipping. Flyers for both of these fundraisers with additional details have been sent home in folders.

  • Liturgy- This Thursday, October 24th, we will be having a school liturgy. If you are available, please join us in the chapel at 11:00 am. Please remember that students should come to school in full dress uniform on mass days.

  • Free dress for October birthdays- This Friday, October 25th, is a free dress day for all students celebrating their birthday in October. Please abide by the free dress expectations outlined in the student handbook. Students should not be coming to school in pajamas, leggings, spaghetti straps, or short shorts.

  • Friday noon dismissal- This Friday, October 25th, is a half day, so dismissal will be at noon.

  • Casa de Fruta- Please look out for the field-trip reminder flyer going home in folders this week. Our Casa de Fruta field trip is coming up next Monday, so please be prepared. I have coordinated with Mrs. Settles in first grade and we are all set with carpool, so I will be sending home lists of who your child will be riding with.

  • Dress Code- Just as a friendly reminder, please continue to abide by our school dress code. As the weather begins to cool down, students should only be wearing their fleece sweatshirts for uniform days and their crewneck/hooded sweatshirts for PE days. Spirit sweatshirts should not be worn unless otherwise notified.

Let me know if you have any questions! Thanks so much, and have a great week.
