All Souls Day

Dear Salesian Family,

All Saints Day is celebrated on November 1st. We take the time to recognize all the incredible men and women who have been canonized and proclaimed saints in our church.

On Tuesday, we will have our second-grade class lead us in celebrating this special Mass. They will be all dressed up in a saint’s costume of their choice and ready to share a brief excerpt on the life of their saint. You are all invited to attend Mass and celebrate All Saints Day with us.

The celebration of All Souls Day has been a long-lasting tradition in the Catholic Church. We offer prayers for the souls of all our loved ones who have gone before us. It is an opportunity to recall the beautiful memories of the times we enjoyed being together and their impact on our lives.

We pray for them to be purified of any consequences of what they may have done or failed to do, as we, too, will have to take responsibility for our transgressions. May they soon enjoy everlasting happiness with God in heaven.

Eternal rest grant unto them, oh Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. May they rest in peace. AMEN

Lavender slips will be sent home for you to fill in the names of loved ones who have gone to heaven. Their names will be placed in our chapel.

God bless,

Sr. Carmen, FMA
