Mission Statement

Dear Parents/Guardians,

We would like to take a moment to share the meaning behind our school’s Mission Statement and how it shapes the daily experience of your children.

Mission Statement

The mission of Salesian Elementary and Junior High School is to educate youth academically and spiritually in the Catholic, Salesian traditions of Reason, Religion and Loving Kindness.

This mission is rooted in the educational approach of St. John Bosco, known as the Preventive System. Rather than focusing on punishment, this system emphasizes guiding young people through positive relationships, respect, and encouragement.

Here’s what that looks like in practice:

Reason

We help students understand why they make choices. Teachers guide them to think critically, act responsibly, and develop self-discipline. Clear expectations and open communication create an environment where students feel respected and heard.

Religion

Faith is at the heart of our school. Students are invited to grow in their relationship with God through prayer, reflection, and participation in Catholic traditions. We aim to nurture not just knowledge, but a deep sense of purpose and moral responsibility.

Loving Kindness

Every child is valued and cared for. Teachers strive to build trusting relationships with students, creating a safe and welcoming environment. When students feel loved and supported, they are more open to learning and personal growth.

Together, these three pillars create a community where students are not only educated academically, but also formed as compassionate, responsible, and faith-filled individuals.

We are grateful for your partnership in this mission. By working together, we can help your children grow into the people they are called to be.

May God bless you and your family,

Sr. Anna Bui, FMA
